Coverage in the Petroleum Refining Industry consists of a phone verified database of 765 operational plants in North America with over 3,700 unique decision making contacts with over 5,000 functional management responsibilities.
Each month, IIR updates plant database information with changes that have taken place, including plant closings or new plant start ups. In 2001, 16 refineries and lube oil plants officially closed, due to market conditions. Active project spending information based on a June 2002 completion date and beyond consists of approximately 921 projects representing $40.2 billion. In the year 2001, IIR’s team of industry specialists reported 594 Project Reports with a TIV (Total Investment Value) of $24.4 billion.
Continuing in 2002, the refining industry is expecting to see significant changes as environmental requirements become even more demanding on processes and technologies. Spending will remain strong through 2006 with new regulations and mandates for gasoline and diesel fuel continuing to evolve.
