IIR Data Messenger with the Plant Geolocator
When the Plant Geolocator is launched from the users desktop, a message will appear asking to check for new updates. At which time the IIR Data Messenger will connect to the Internet and search IIR’s ftp server for an update. If an update is available, a message will appear prompting the user to download the new file. Once completed, the latest upload will be made to the Plant Geolocator's datasets residing on your computer. After the download, users can view the transactional log to verify that the download has been made successfully.
Upload Results Table
 After the IIR Data Messenger has performed a download, the Uploads Results Table can be launched from the Plant Geolocator menu bar to display the results of the update. This includes the number of new records, and the number of updated records. The Upload Results Table is designed to archive all historical update information so that users can sort, view and summarize on all information updates.
Historical Data Tracking Table
 With the thousands of records verified monthly by IIR’s research staff, record changes are being made constantly. Monthly these updates are being made available to clients. After a user downloads the necessary update, the results can be viewed in the new Historical Data Tracking Table. Users can see records and fields that actually change, and view each field change by comparing the old information with the new information. In addition, the Historical Data tracking table work just like all other tables found in the Plant Geolocator. Functionalities include: searching by specified date changes, changes to specific fields or records, summarizing changes over a period of time, and also linking the table between other tables.
