Capital Project Tracking

IIR provides extensive coverage on major capital projects in the U.S. covering the Utilities, Private Energy Producers (PEP), and Industrial Energy Producers (IEP) sectors. Detailed information is available on projects that exceed $1 million in spending and a 4-6 month lead-time criteria. Due to deregulation and the demand for more electric generation capacity, the primary projects reported by IIR have been grassroot construction, unit additions, station repowering and fuel conversions. Year-to-date, the average project value in 2001 for the Power Industry is $290 million. In addition to these major projects, capital spending occurring at older power plants to adhere to environmental regulation still contributes to a percentage of the coverage initiated by IIR. Historically in the U.S, IIR has identified over 340 projects involving Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) programs as well as over 790 NOx reduction projects dealing with new and existing power plants. Today there are over 70 major projects in the U.S. involving NOx reduction programs. IIR’s direct research method confirms and validates each project through key corporate and plant contacts to insure accuracy. Three key management and decision maker contacts are provided for each project to give the user a direct connection with the appropriate project contacts.
