July Brings U.S. Refining Records

SUGAR LAND--July 28, 2014--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--U.S. refineries have been running at record levels in July. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reports that for the weeks ending both July 11 and July 18, U.S. refinery inputs were more than 16.8 million barrels per day (BBL/d), eclipsing the previous record, set for the week ending July 1, 2005, of 16,799 BBL/d. U.S. refineries operated at 93.8% capacity for both weeks.
