Europe Approves Carbon Giveaway for Heavy Industry
GALWAY, IRELAND--October 6, 2014--Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland)--The European Parliament has narrowly approved plans by the European Commission (EC) to boost the competitiveness of its heavy industries by giving them billions of euros worth of carbon allowances.
The 5 billion scheme was voted in by a cross-parliamentary committee by 34 votes for versus 30 against.
