U.K. Cuts Support for Biomass Projects

GALWAY, IRELAND--December 18, 2014--Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland)--The U.K. government is reducing subsidies for a range of biomass energy projects, as it fears that the sharp growth in co-firing projects will exceed its budget.

The Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has revealed that changes to the Renewable Obligation (RO) scheme will see reductions in future subsidies for co-firing plants.
