Kazakhstan Keeps Bragging Rights as Top Uranium Producer

JOHANNESBURG--February 3, 2015--Written by Richard Finlayson, Senior International Editor for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--With more than 60 nuclear reactors under construction around the world, according to the World Nuclear Association (WNA), the medium-term prospects for uranium oxide prices are solid, finishing 2014 at $36.95 per pound, up from $34.59 per pound a year ago. Some industry observers see the price moving up to $45 per pound in 2015, a price last experienced in September 2012.
