Cooper Nuclear In $100 Million Fuel Deal

GALWAY, IRELAND--February 4, 2015 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) (Columbus) has signed a long-standing fuel deal for its Cooper Nuclear Station in Nebraska worth an estimated $100 million.

The power company has selected Global Nuclear Fuel (GNF), a joint venture majority-owned by General Electric (NYSE:GE) (GE) (Fairfield, Connecticut) along with Hitachi (OTC:HTHIY) (Tokyo, Japan) and Toshiba Corporation (OTC:TSHTF) (Tokyo, Japan) to provide fuel loads for the Cooper plant through January 2034, the projected end of the plant's life.
