Big Oil, Big Corn Spar over EPA Draft Rule on Renewable Fuels
SUGAR LAND--June 27, 2016--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Big Oil and Big Corn continue to clash over a proposal from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (Washington, D.C.) to increase the amount of biofuels produced in 2016 and 2017. The EPA released a draft Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) rule May 18 and held a public hearing on it June 9 in Kansas City, Missouri. On June 22, representatives from oil and renewable fuels groups testified before the House Energy & Commerce Committee's subcommittee on energy and power.
