SUGAR LAND--July 15, 2016--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Texas continues to lead the U.S. for industrial project construction activity, accounting for about 17.5% of the value of projects under construction. Earlier this year, Air Products and Chemicals Incorporated (NYSE:APD) (Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania) began construction on a $400 million hydrogen production plant in Baytown, Texas. At about the same time, FedEx Corporation (NYSE:FDX) (Memphis, Tennessee) began construction on a $118 million distribution center in Cypress, Texas. The FedEx project, scheduled to be completed by 2017, is one project of a $5 billion, two-year capital spending plan FedEx announced earlier this year.
