U.S. Offshore Wind Moves Closer to Implementation

SUGAR LAND--February 23, 2012--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--U.S. offshore windfarms are inching closer to construction, helped along by the recent announcement by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) that there are no significant environmental impacts from wind energy leases in designated outer continental shelf areas. In turn, the states of Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and Delaware, where wind developers want to build offshore windfarms, may solicit leases off their coasts.
