Rwanda Plans $1 Billion Investment in Geothermal Energy

JOHANNESBURG--March 9, 2012--Written by Richard Finlayson, Senior International Editor for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Central African state of Rwanda is planning to invest about $1 billion in geothermal energy development, including power plant construction, drilling more wells, infrastructure, drilling materials and services. The drilling of wells in areas with good geothermal potential is scheduled to begin shortly. Some of those areas are on the lower slopes of the Karisimbi, Kinigi and Gisenyi mountains.
