5 Year PEC Report® Coverage Analysis by Project Type by Industry (1997-2001)
In further analyzing IIR's North American PEC Report coverage over the past five (5) years, the total coverage consisted of 33,316 projects representing a combined TIV of $1.4 billion. In that five year period, the In-Plant Capital project spending category represented over 61%, or 18,644 projects of the total coverage. This category included 9,882 projects consisting of Expansions and Additions valued at $389.9 billion, and 8,662 projects that include Modifications, Upgrades, Debottlenecks, Rebuilds, Renovations, Revamps, Retrofits, Compliance Programs, etc., representing a TIV of over $211.4 billion. The In-Plant Maintenance coverage consist of Turnarounds, Outages, and Shutdowns representing over 22% of the overall project coverage, or 6,773 projects with a TIV of $21.5 billion. Grassroot plant coverage represented only 16% or 4,899 projects of the 5-year (1997-2001) total project coverage, but accounted for 55% of the spending valued at $752.2 billion.
