SUGAR LAND--February 27, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Santee Cooper's 600-megawatt (MW) supercritical pulverized-coal-fired Pee Dee project has just finished yet another round of court room hearings involving a lawsuit from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. After Santee Cooper received an air permit from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Controls in December, the court ruled that the company has met and proven its case for the plant's construction. Santee Cooper officials said they are prepared for more resistance and court hearings over this project.
