
SUGAR LAND--March 2, 2012--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) (Bellvue, Washington) announced on Wednesday, February 29, that the first phase of its 343-megawatt (MW) Lower Snake River Windfarm in southeastern Washington state had begun commercial operations. The facility consists of 149 Seimens 2.3-MW SWT-2.3-101 model turbine-generators. Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES Americas) (Broomfield, Colorado) acted as contractor on the project.
According to Industrial Info's Renewable Energy Database, Washington has 10 major active wind projects, ranging from the planning to construction stages, with a combined total investment value of more than $3.6 billion.
