JOHANNESBURG--Written by Richard Finlayson, Senior International Editor for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--South Korea's Ministry of Knowledge Economy has announced that about $1 billion will be invested into research and development (R&D) for the country's energy sector in 2012. The R&D will target new energy sources and reinforce measures for possible accidents involving nuclear power plants.
