Calpine Moves Forward with Garrison Merchant Generator in Delaware

SUGAR LAND--November 20, 2012--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Conditions in the Mid-Atlantic power market have become favorable enough for developer Calpine Corporation (NYSE:CPN) (Houston, Texas) to move forward with the construction of a 309-megawatt (MW), natural gas, combined-cycle generator in Dover, Delaware. Construction of the Garrison Energy Center is scheduled to begin next spring, and the plant is slated to be operating by June 2015, Calpine spokesman Stu Widom told Industrial Info. The project has a total investment value (TIV) of about $400 million.
