TVA Commits to New Gas-Fired Generator, Mulls Decision on Allen Plant
SUGAR LAND--February 19, 2014--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Tennessee Valley Authority (NYSE:TVE) (Knoxville, Tennessee) is taking steps toward a cleaner, less carbon-intensive energy future, with plans to construct a 1,000-megawatt (MW), natural gas-fired, combined-cycle generator (NGCC) on the site where it will close two aging coal-fired generators, in Paradise, Kentucky.
