SUGAR LAND--March 18, 2014--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--To meet customers' future electricity demand, Louisville Gas and Electric Company (LG&E) (Louisville, Kentucky) and Kentucky Utilities Company (KU) (Lexington, Kentucky) are planning hefty investments in new generating stations and customer energy-efficiency programs. Those investments have been under development for a while, but the extreme cold in January set several new winter peak electric demand records, further highlighting the need for new resources.
