Ireland Cancels U.K. Wind Energy Deal

GALWAY, IRELAND--April 17, 2014 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) Ireland's hopes of becoming a major exporter of wind energy to the U.K. are dead in the water after the country's energy minister admitted that a deal between the two countries is not possible.

Last month, it emerged that the proposed energy export deal worth billions of euro, would not be feasible by the 2020 deadline but now it looks as if it will not happen at all thanks to regulatory issues and who would foot the bill for the transmission links needed.
