Turkey May Alleviate Gasoline Shortage in Northern Iraq, Says Energy Minister
ANKARA--June 24, 2014--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Turkey will provide fuel to northern Iraq to make up for a shortage caused by a militant offensive that has shut down the country's biggest oil refinery. Turkey's Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said the shutdown of the Baiji refinery has created a gasoline supply shortfall of 4,000 tons per day in northern Iraq. According to televised remarks, Yildiz said Turkey's sole refiner, TUPRAS (BIST:TUPRS) (Kocaeli,Turkey), could alleviate the gasoline shortage, but that could cause a bottleneck at the border with northern Iraq.
