300 Million Boost for U.K. Carbon Capture
GALWAY, IRELAND--July 14, 2014 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) A U.K. carbon capture and storage (CCS) project has become the only European CCS project to receive funding from the European Commission (E.C.).
The White Rose project, based at Britain's largest coal-fired power station, the Drax plant near Selby in North Yorkshire, has won 300 million ($408 million) in funding from the second round of the Commission's NER300 funding programme, which saw 1 billion awarded to climate change and renewable energy projects.
