Japan's LNG Consumption Increases as Crude Plummets
SUGAR LAND--July 25, 2014--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Japan's Federation of Electric Power Companies (FEPC) recently released numbers on the fuel consumption of Japan's power companies, and last month set a record for liquefied natural gas (LNG) imported during the month of June. By contrast, coal, fuel oil and crude oil all either fell or remained roughly the same. The increase in LNG consumption may be linked to the drop in LNG prices in Japan during the past two years.
