GALWAY, IRELAND--October 9, 2014 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) Europe has cleared the way for the first nuclear power plant to be built in the U.K. for 20 years.

After a lengthy investigation, the European Commission ruled that the U.K.'s agreement with French energy giant Electricite de France (EPA:EDF), to offer a guaranteed electricity price for 35 years at the Hinkley Point C nuclear project did not breach E.U. state aid rules.
