Floating Wind Turbines Advance

GALWAY, IRELAND--October 23, 2014 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) The development of commercial floating offshore wind turbines made a significant advance recently with the announcement of a deal between Alstom Renewable Power and marine engineering company Direction des Constructions Navales (DCNS) (Paris).

The companies have agreed to develop and commercialise a floating wind turbine with a generation capacity of 6-megawatts (MW) within the next three years.
