European Loan for Irish Grid Upgrade
GALWAY, IRELAND--November 3, 2014 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) Funding to secure the connection of renewable energy to Ireland's electricity grid has been approved by the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The bank has agreed a 100 million ($125 million) loan to Ireland's state-owned utility, Electricity Supply Board (ESB) (Dublin), to upgrade the grid in the south-west of the country to facilitate the addition of renewable energy from windfarms.
