Hydropower Report Cuts Number of Potential Projects in U.S. Northwest

SUGAR LAND--December 17, 2014--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--A recent report by the Northwest Power and Conservation Council (NPCC) (Portland, Oregon), which is responsible for power planning in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington, has found that its latest assessment of viable potential hydroelectric projects is about eight times less than 25,225 cited by the U.S. Department of Energy's (DoE) (Washington, D.C.) Wind and Water Power Technologies Office. Industrial Info is tracking 44 hydroelectric capital projects, valued at $2.4 billion, that are scheduled to begin construction between January 2015 and December 2016 in the U.S. Northwest.
