SUGAR LAND--December 19, 2014--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) (Washington D.C.) proposed Clean Power Plan would establish mandatory emission limits on CO2 for existing power plants. A question yet to be answered by the EPA's proposed plan is the role of combined heat and power (CHP), or cogeneration, and waste-heat-to-power (WHP) plants, whose primary purpose is not to provide electrical generation, but to provide steam and/or hot water for steam, heat or air conditioning.
