Turkey's Top Three Non-Governmental Organizations Sue to Halt EIA Report for Nuclear Power Project

ISTANBUL--December 31, 2014--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Turkey's three leading non-governmental organizations, led by Bar Association of Turkey, have filed a lawsuit to shelve the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for the Mersin Akkuyu nuclear power plant project. In late November, Turkey's Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning approved the EIA report for the project. The approval process took three years to complete.
