JOHANNESBURG--March 24, 2015--Written by Richard Finlayson, Senior International Editor for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) (Brussels, Belgium) reported that worldwide wind power installation grew 44% in 2014 with the addition of 51 gigawatts (GW). The increase points to a solid sign of the industry's recovery after a rough patch in the past few years, said the council. Total global wind capacity stood at about 370 GW at the end of 2014.
