Worldsteel Forecasts Improving Market Conditions Through 2016

JOHANNESBURG--April 22, 2015--Written by Richard Finlayson, Senior International Editor for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The World Steel Association's (worldsteel) (Brussels, Belgium) short-range outlook for 2015-16 forecasts that global apparent steel use (deliveries minus net exports) will increase 0.5% to 1.54 billion tonnes in 2015, following growth of 0.6% in 2014. The association forecasts world steel demand will grow 1.4% to 1.57 billion tonnes in 2016.
