SUGAR LAND--June 18, 2015--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Renewable energy sources accounted for 9.8% of all U.S. energy consumption in 2014, the highest such total since the 1930s, when wood was the leading source of renewable energy, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) (Washington, D.C.). Hydroelectricity was the largest single source of renewable energy in 2014, the agency noted.
