Duke Seeks Approval for $1.4 Billion in Indiana T&D Infrastructure Spending
SUGAR LAND--May 2, 2016--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Duke Energy Indiana (Plainfield, Indiana) wants to invest about $1.4 billion to upgrade its power transmission and distribution (T&D) system between 2016 and 2022. The utility, a subsidiary of Duke Energy Corporation (NYSE:DUK) (Charlotte, North Carolina), recently reached a settlement with eight intervenors that pared nearly $400 million from its original $1.83 billion request, filed last December. One party to the rate case, the Citizens Action Coalition, did not sign the settlement. Indiana utility regulators are scheduled to begin hearings this week on Duke's case.
