Enbridge to Acquire Spectra, Likely Creating Largest Pipeline Company in North America
SUGAR LAND--September 7, 2016--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Enbridge Incorporated (NYSE:ENB) (Calgary, Alberta) will buy Spectra Energy Corporation (NYSE:SE) (Houston, Texas) in an all-stock deal valued at about $28 billion, possibly creating the largest energy-infrastructure company in North America. The companies said in a joint statement that the deal will give Enbridge and Spectra shareholders about 57% and 43% of the new company, respectively.
