Codelco Plans Copper and Silver Complex in Northern Chile
CORDOBA, ARGENTINA--December 1, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--State-owned miner Codelco (Santiago, Chile) is planning to develop the Ministro Alejandro Hales copper and silver project in northern Chile. The project entails the construction of a 50,000-ton-per-day open pit mine, a processing plant, as well as a smelter and refinery to produce 200,000 tons per year of copper concentrate and 300 tons per year of silver for at least 14 years.
