Planned Ethylene Turnarounds Remain Slim for Second Half of the Year

SUGAR LAND--July 23, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--At this time last year, there were only nine ethylene units scheduled to have planned maintenance turnarounds across North America and South America. That number quickly grew to more than 40 actual turnarounds as the result of hurricane and tropical storm activity in the Gulf of Mexico during the late summer months of 2008. So far this year, the level of scheduled maintenance turnaround activity is even slimmer with only four planned turnarounds currently scheduled for the remainder of this year, as identified in Industrial Info's Ethylene Tracking Database.
