Spain's Initec Energia Awards Mitsubishi Heavy Industries CCGT Power Plant System Contract in Uzbekistan

GALWAY, IRELAND--November 24, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Initec Energia SA (Madrid, Spain), part of the ACS Group (Madrid, Spain), has awarded the contract for the construction of a 478-megawatt (MW) combined-cycle natural-gas turbine (CCGT) power plant system in Uzbekistan to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited (TYO:7011) (MHI) (Tokyo, Japan). The system will be constructed at the site of the Navoi thermal power plant. The contract represents MHI's first venture into Uzbekistan. Under the terms of the contract, MHI will supply one M701F gas turbine and one steam turbine by December 2010. The plant is scheduled to be completed by March 2011.
