Alternative Energy Sources Gets Permit for the First of Three New Midwest Fuel Ethanol Plants

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Alternative Energy Sources Incorporated (OTC:AENS) (Kansas City, Missouri), has received its final permit from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and is now ready to move into the next phase of development on the company's first of three new planned Midwest fuel ethanol plants. The first plant is set to be built in Ogden, Iowa, where the company received about $30 million in tax credits and abatement for the $225 million project.

The company identified about 620-acres of land three miles west of Ogden as the site for the 110 million gallon per year plant. Along with ethanol production, rail lines and track loops will be installed at the site so the company can load some 100 rail cars within a 24-hour period and receive coal from Wyoming to fuel the plants boilers.

Currently, Delta-T Corporation is working with Alternative Energy Sources on the licensed ethanol process technology. Alternative Energy Sources is in the process of securing an engineering, procurement and construction (E+P+C) contractor. Once those contracts are in place, Alternative Energy anticipates starting construction in August or September of this year.

Construction is expected to take sixteen to eighteen months to complete and could be operational as early as the first quarter of 2009.

Additional plants with the same 110 million gallon per year capacity are being developed in Kankakee, Illinois and Greenville, Missouri. Construction on the additional plants are scheduled for late 2007.
