MDI on the Rise with Three New Plants Set for Construction in 2009
SUGAR LAND--April 29, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The world's supply of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) will rise about 840,000 metric tons when three plants come online in 2011. Almost $700 million will be invested in these three projects. BASF (OTC:BASFY) (Ludwigshafen, Germany) and Huntsman Corporation (NYSE:HUN) (Salt Lake City, Utah), two of the major global MDI producers, and BorsodChem (Kazincbarcika, Hungary) are all committed to bringing the new capacity online.
