Power Demand in China Expected to Increase 13.5% this Year

BEIJING--May 6, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--China's energy industry, including electric power and coal, is expected to see continued increases in both demand and supply this year. The estimated growth in demand will be about 13.5%, and the total social power consumption will reach about 3.7 trillion kilowatt-hours (kWh), said Wei Jianguo, General Manager of Zhong Neng Power Industry Fuel Company (Beijing), a subsidiary of the State Grid Corporation of China (Beijing).
