Cement Giants Continue Investments in Quake-Hit Sichuan Province

BEIJING--June 18, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--After the deadly earthquake in May, Chinese cement companies are making large investments in the quake-hit Sichuan Province. Conch Cement Company will build 15 new dry cement production lines in the Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Sichuan, Guizhou provinces and the city of Chongqing. Deyang Lisen Cement Company (Zhejiang province), the largest cement investor in Sichuan, signed a deal with the city of Shifang on June 5 to invest $173.9 million in two 2-million-ton-per-annum dry cement production lines. This is the largest cement investment in Sichuan after the May 12 earthquake.
