Almost 65,000 U.S. Manufacturing Jobs Anticipated in Second Half of 2008
Attachment: New Jobs From Grassroot Industrial Plant Construction in the U.S.
SUGAR LAND--June 18, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--With the recent release of job loss totals by the Department of Labor, the effects of the declining economy are becoming more evident. The economic situation of the average American is getting desperate, and the continued loss of jobs, even with the rate declining, is not helping matters. Despite these major losses, industrial manufacturing continues to thrive. More than 3,300 capital and maintenance projects are currently scheduled to begin construction between June and December of 2008. This represents more than $170 billion worth of investment in the United States. With these projects come much needed construction jobs -- thousands of them. In addition to the new construction that is beginning, almost 750 new plants will begin operation during the second half of 2008. These new plants will mean 65,000 new manufacturing jobs will need to be filled in the coming months.
