Construction Begins on Polysilicon and New Energy Integrated Project in Xinjiang
BEIJING--June 19, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Tebian Electric Apparatus Stock Company's (Changji) polysilicon and new energy integrated project, a key project of the Xinjiang autonomous region, recently began construction. The first phase of the project will have an investment of $235 million and will provide a production capacity of 1,500 tons of polysilicon per year. The estimated production date is 2009. Upon the project's completion, China's long reliance on imported polysilicon will be reduced, and the cost of photovoltaic product production will be considerably lowered.
