Construction Begins on $330 Million, 270-Megawatt Gas-Fired Power Station in Australia
SUGAR LAND--June 25, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Babcock & Brown Power (ASX:BBP) (Sydney, Australia) has started construction on a 270-megawatt (MW) gas-fired power station approximately 42 kilometers north of Launceston in the Tamar Valley, near Bell Bay in northern Tasmania. A consortium consisting of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited (TYO:7011) (Minato, Tokyo) and its sister company Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TYO:6503) (Chiyoda, Tokyo) was awarded the contract.
