China's Installed Capacity of Wind Power Expected to Surpass 10 Gigawatts This Year

BEIJING--June 30, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--China's installed capacity of wind power is expected to surpass 10 gigawatts (GW) by the end of this year and 20 GW by the end of 2010. China will soon have more installed wind power capacity of wind power than any other country, said Zhou Xi'an of the National Development and Reform Commission at the opening ceremony of the Wind Power Asia 2008 conference, held in Beijing June 25-27. Important wind power manufacturers, suppliers, technical developers and service providers such as Dongfang Electric Corporation Limited (SHA:600875), the ABB Group (NYSE:ABB), Alstom (EPA:ALO), General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) and the Gamesa Corporation (MCE:GAM) participated in the exhibition.
