Construction Under Way on $490 Million, 750-Megawatt Gas-Fired Power Station in Egypt

SUGAR LAND--July 8, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Egyptian power producer Middle Delta Electricity Production Company (Talkha, Egypt) has begun construction on a 750-megawatt (MW) natural-gas-fired combined-cycle power station in the town of El Atf about 60 kilometers west of Alexandria, Egypt. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited (TYO:7011) (Minato, Tokyo), one of Japan's leading power-equipment manufacturers, and its sister company Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TYO:6503) (Chiyoda, Tokyo) were awarded the construction contract.
