Duke Energy to Award Siemens EPC Contract for Thermoelectric Power Plant in Peru

CORDOBA, ARGENTINA--September 9, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Duke Energy Egenor (Lima), Duke Energy Corporation's (NYSE:DUK) (Charlotte, North Carolina) subsidiary in Peru, plans to start up the new 197-megawatt (MW) Las Flores thermoelectric power plant during the first quarter of 2010. Siemens AG (NYSE:SI) (Munich, Germany) will be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of the project, although the contract has not been formalized yet.
