Independent power producers are also looking at coal-fired plants like Mid-Michigan Energy LLC (Detroit), a joint venture owned by LS Power Group (East Brunswick, New Jersey) and Dynegy Incorporated (NYSE:DYN) (Houston, Texas), and natural-gas-fired plants like Indeck Energy Services Incorporated's (Buffalo Grove, Illinois) 1,100-MW Niles Power Plant.
