SUGAR LAND--July 15, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--As a state that has had record-high regional temperature and generation-demand during the past month, Texas will soon be receiving some additional power generation capacity. Currently, approximately 3,079 megawatts (MW) of electrical generation is scheduled to begin commercial operation by the end of September. This represents approximately 2% of the state's operational generation capacity, as well as a little more than 1% of the approximately 63,000 MW of generation currently under development in Texas.
