SUGAR LAND--January 25, 2010--Industrial Info dramatically expanded its European power industry research last year, adding more than 20,000 megawatts of projects each in France, Germany, Spain, Poland, Sweden, Ukraine and Italy. As 2010 began, Industrial Info's power industry research covered more than 80% of the generating capacity in the region's largest national markets, including Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Italy. Smaller markets like Estonia, Latvia, and Malta have coverage exceeding 90%. Overall, about 851 gigawatts (GW) of electric generating capacity exists in Europe, and Industrial Info is tracking about 700 GW of this capacity. "The goal is to have our databases contain 90% of all European power generation, including more than 90% coverage of all coal-fired, biomass and combustion turbine installations, by the Power-Gen Europe convention this June," said Shane Mullins, Industrial Info's vice president of product development for the Power Industry. The Industrial Info electric power research team has more than doubled in the past year, and further additions are planned as the company continues expanding its coverage of European power markets.
